Sirs: I like beads, cats, ketchup and Matlock. I may or may not fill you in on the rest later, because really, I have no business having this blog in the first place.

Hi, just thought I’d give you an update on the missing orange creme eggs. It turns out that Hersheys holds the license to make/market/distribute Cadbury’s creme eggs in the US. I got the following response from Hersheys:
Thank you for asking about CADBURY Orange Creme Eggs Candy. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately, this product is not being produced for nationwide retail distribution at this time.
We know how disappointing it can be to look for your favorite treat and not find it, so you can be certain we will share your comments with our Marketing Department. We always consider our consumers’ opinions when we make decisions about any of our products.
On the bright side, you can visit http://www.celebratewithhersheys.com for current promotions, coupons, seasonal recipes, and decorating ideas. Or, if you would prefer, you can call us. We would love to talk with you and will happily answer any additional questions you may have about our products! You can reach us during our regular weekday business hours, 9-4 ET, by calling 800-468-1714.
We hope you will find other sweet treats from our product lines that you like as much as the CADBURY Orange Creme Eggs Candy.
Have a sweet day!

So it looks like we’re out of luck this year, although it does imply they might be selling them in some local markets. Hopefully enough people will complain that they will bring it back next year! I’ve always thought the eggs should be a year-round staple anyway, or at least some sort of similar sugary confection; Cadbury’s creme cubes would do nicely if they can’t bring themselves to make egg shapes the rest of the year!
I found you by googling Etsy payments. Oh your work is gorgeous. Shiny and sparkly, stars, all that one could dream of.
I am wondering if it is on the level that Etsy is levying their percentage on tax that happens to be charged. Very odd.
I laughed out loud at your reference to their crocheted beards. Did you notice that a reminder email sent on May 30 (maybe not to you) stated that all that is needed to sign up is a bank account and to identify yourself. Credit card information was incorrectly left out of the equation, as one of their reps confirmed that a credit card is mandatory.
Love, absolutely love reading your writing.
Thank you Rachel!
Hm, I didn’t know about that tax thing. So goes it with Etsy. They’re just so unprofessional.
I’m glad you enjoy my writing. It feels so old hat, so it’s great to hear. 🙂
Hi Sarah, hope you are well. What beautiful jewelry. I would be interested in find out more about the piece with large red central bead and Alfonso piece with soft blue stripe should center of Beads and what appears to be orangey ochre towards the poles of the Beads.
Thanks and take care.
Sarah,
Many years ago you made me beautiful beads that I, in turn, made into a “necklace” for my special best friend, a 3 pound miniature pinscher named Mimi. She has since passed on and recently found her “necklace”. I had a moment of emotional nostalgia and enjoyed just holding these beads comforted by knowing that my precious pup wore it for many years and they were made with love by an artisan (you!)…thank you! ❤
Sarah, I am still thinking about your recent post, could you email me? It’s been two email accounts past since we had occasion to chat that way, and I’d like to send a note. Hugs Kate
I have some (5) of your cone and silver focal art pieces that I love. It’s been awhile but I continue to follow your work. The composition is as if you were reading my mind! The whimsical nature of your colors and shapes – so fun to wear. I have not found any glass/silver artists who compare. Just wanted to say thanks for making the world a bit more fun!
Oh and by the way, you kitties are really cute.
Thanks again,
Marty
Hi Marty, you are welcome, and thank you so much for writing. I never get tired of hearing how people enjoy my work, it helps keep me at it. These cats, however, are ungrateful beasts who steal beads and doritos and demand fancy feast during their very few waking hours. You can have them. (not really)
Thank you for the tip on the sewing machine manual (posted 9 years ago)! I have the same machine as you and I was happy to stumble upon your post. I’m glad to see you’re still blogging. ❤
Hi Rose, I nearly missed this entirely! I’m so glad I was able to help with the manual. 🙂 Someday I hope to get the Nelco out again, but it doesn’t look promising anytime soon, I’m too busy with the beads, as usual. Thanks for posting!
